2024 Giving Annual Roundup

In 2024, the Do Your Best initiative continues. The effort that we took was to donate to, shed light on and learn about organizations related to health and the environment.

California Fire Foundation

As a company that calls California home, the top organization we chose to donate to in 2024 was the California Fire Foundation. California had an incredibly hot and dry summer during which multiple fires burned hundreds of thousands of acres of communities, homes and forests. The 2024 Park Fire was the 4th largest fire in California history and burned 429,603 acres damaging 709 structures.

This highlights the important work of The California Fire Foundation. They provide emotional and financial assistance to families of fallen firefighters, firefighters and the communities they protect.

The California Fire Foundation was formed in 1987 by California Professional Firefighters. Their mission covers an array of survivor assistance projects and community initiatives.

For firefighters and their families,  The Foundation supplies emergency support to departments and families of firefighters killed or injured in the line of duty through the California Firefighters Benevolent Fund and provides educational assistance to the children of fallen firefighters through the California Firefighters Endowment and Daniel A. Terry Scholarship program.

The foundation also provides immediate, short-term relief to survivors of fire and other natural disasters throughout California.

Asian Pacific Health Care Venture

Language and other cultural barriers have presented challenges to providing health care to segments of the population. Citizens with limited English proficiency have been shown in studies to have worse chronic disease, cancer and mental health outcomes. So we at Best in Nature always look to donate to organizations focused on the health of these groups.

Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, Inc. (APHCV) was established in 1986 starting off as a small clinic and has grown to include 4 comprehensive community health centers across Los Angeles County.

Something that makes Asian Pacific Health Care Venture unique is that they offer interpretation and translation services for multiple languages including English, Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, Khmer, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Bengali.

They offer the following clinical services.

  • Physical exams
  • Physical exams for sports
